5 Fun Asheville Company Holiday Party Ideas for Your Team
1. Get Out of the Office for a Downtown Adventure
Sometimes the best way to celebrate your team is to get everyone away from their desks and into a completely different environment.
A downtown Asheville adventure gives your staff a chance to relax, connect, and explore together outside the usual workday routine. Discover tucked-away corners of the city, visit local businesses, and experience the creative, quirky personality that makes Asheville so special.
It's a refreshing alternative to a traditional office party — and a great way to give your team something to talk about long after the holidays are over.
2. Turn Team Building Into an Actual Good Time
Let's be honest: not everyone gets excited about the words "team-building exercise."
But working together to solve clues, uncover hidden gems, and discover what's around the next corner? That's a different story!
Interactive experiences give coworkers a chance to collaborate in a relaxed setting, share some laughs, and get to know one another beyond their usual work roles. No awkward trust falls required.
A holiday party that combines fun and connection is a win for everyone.
3. Eat, Drink, and Shop Local
One of the best things about celebrating in Asheville is the incredible community of independent businesses that make this city unique.
From local food and beverage experiences to galleries, creative activities, specialty shops, and neighborhood gems, there's so much more to discover than the usual stops on a visitor's itinerary.
Planning your company holiday celebration around local businesses also gives your team an opportunity to support the small businesses, artists, makers, and entrepreneurs who help our community thrive.
You get a memorable experience, local businesses get new customers, and everyone wins.
4. Plan a Holiday Outing That Works for Your Whole Team
Not every company holiday party needs to look the same.
Maybe your group wants to sample local flavors, enjoy a few drinks, try something creative, explore downtown, or simply spend time together outside the workplace. The best company outings offer opportunities for different personalities to participate and enjoy themselves.
When you're choosing a holiday party activity, look for an experience that encourages everyone to join in without putting anyone on the spot.
Bonus points if you can leave the planning, coordinating, and logistics to someone else!
5. Make This Year's Celebration One to Remember
Your staff has spent the year showing up, solving problems, supporting one another, and keeping things moving. Your holiday party is an opportunity to recognize those efforts and celebrate what you've accomplished together.
Instead of another forgettable evening, give your team an experience they can enjoy together — one filled with discovery, laughter, and a little Asheville magic.
After all, the best holiday parties aren't necessarily the fanciest ones. They're the ones where people have fun.
